I’m on the battlefield,
Willing to fight.
The invader I will have to defeat,
Today his blood I have to drink.

In a ritual we prepare ourselves,
Offering sacrifices to Huitzilopochtli.
But some suffer a strange disease,
They advance towards the Mictlán.

With the fire we dance,
Coexisting in an astral trance.
Observed by the ancestors,
We will protect its legacy.

I sharpen the obsidian with my brothers
We will fight like one.
Our freedom and lands we will defend,
Over their corpses we shall triumph.

The battle has begun,
Roar the drums and several thunders.
The earth is bathed in blood,
There are only mutilated bodies.

The invader has found allies,
Our losses are increasing.
It is a feast of pain and death,
Many march towards the Tonatiuhichan...

They have razed my people,
Defeated, I have been captured.
Now, they want to enslave us
And our culture remove.

But I prefer to die than to serve,
Soon I will be executed.
In the cosmos with my people I will meet
